Studio Policy
-
I will teach students in a positive and enthusiastic environment. My goal is to empower each student to reach their short and long-term musical goals through a personalized course of study that matches their unique learning needs.
-
Students are expected to arrive on time, well-prepared, and bring all required materials, including their assignment book.
Daily quality practice is necessary to make good progress.
Parents and students should ask questions about assignments to ensure clarity and understanding.
Parents: If something is happening at home or school that might affect your child’s learning or focus, please share it with me. The more I know, the better I can support your child’s musical journey.
-
Students are responsible for purchasing their own assigned music and lesson materials.
Materials are expected within 2 weeks of being assigned. Advanced notice will be provided whenever possible.
Students must have access to an instrument for home practice. If you have questions or would like input on the purchase of an instrument please let me know.

Fall Term: September-December
Spring Term: January-May
Summer Term: June-August
Lessons are on a month-to-month schedule and will be paid in full before the start of the first lesson.
Due to the instructor’s military commitments, the weeks where lessons are not held will be communicated in advance. Virtual lessons may be offered during that time.
Late Payments: Repeated late payments may result in termination of enrollment.
Withdrawal: Written notice via email is required 2 weeks prior to the next billing cycle. If notice is not received on time, tuition will be charged and the student may attend all paid lessons that month. Lessons will be canceled the following month.
Note: Enrollment in summer lessons is required to guarantee a fall term spot.
-
Lessons canceled with less than 24 hours notice are not eligible for a make-up.
Lessons canceled with 24+ hours notice will receive a make-up credit, to be used within 30 days.
Up to 2 make-up credits are allowed per term (Sept–Dec, Jan–May, June-Aug).
Make-ups do not reduce or apply to future tuition.
Teacher-canceled lessons will be rescheduled within 30 days.
If the student or a family member is ill or not feeling well for any reason, the student should not attend their lesson in-person. If the student comes to the studio with any of the following symptoms (excessive coughing, sniffling, sneezing, fatigue), the student will be sent home immediately and the lesson will be forfeited.
If the student is well enough, the lesson will be held during their normally scheduled time via Zoom. If the student is not well enough to attend their lesson virtually, at least 24 hours notice is required to guarantee a makeup lesson.
-
In cases of illness, severe weather, or other conflicts, lessons may be held online.
If virtual lessons are offered, in-person make-ups will not be provided.
Students who opt out of a virtual lesson forfeit the lesson and tuition.
Tuition remains non-refundable.
